Best training school in/around Glasgow.

To pass my Direct Access I have considered Bikerite, Harleys Rider training, Ride-on, and Bike-it in Paisley.

Even though the first three are closer to my home than Bike-it my preference is veering towards Bike-it.

Their website is professional and clear and they are much more open and honest about prices etc than the other centres.

Bikerite is right next to where I live and I wanted Bikerite to be a good centre so I could go there, however they were very slippery when I asked them about prices and what would happen if I failed the guaranteed test, and I have read some reviews that have supported my suspicions.

However I could be wrong but don't really know. I would really like to do a block of 10 lessons over 4 days and just pass it really quickly.

Questions:

1. Has you passed your test in Glasgow?

2. Have you got any recommendations of the best training centre? Method of passing?

3. Did you do indivdual lessons or blocks of lesssons? Why? Di you make the right choice?

4. Any problems over the course of the whole thing? What were they? How did you fix them?

Thanks

Sorry mate, never had any experience of the Indirect Access

Still have the receipts for my tests though, iirc , Part 1 = £17.00 and Part 2 was £19.50, costs were spread over 2 years, and experience was gained by borrowing as many different bikes as you could illegally ride
The dealers were far more easier to haggle a full day test ride from, and i would like to give my thanks to Jack Gow and Andrew Hart for there support in my search of hoots and shennanigans

If I was to choose now, I think cramming as many lessons in the shortest space of time would be my choice.

Yes 1st time!

I have only used Harley's they are not the cheapest but boy are they good, no fannying around, all the time is spent teaching you to ride and observe traffic etc.

3. Did you do indivdual lessons or blocks of lesssons? Why? Di you make the right choice?

5 Day Direct Access, def made ther right choice, its intense you are thinking about bikes 24/7, it's not for everytone tho.
oh i may add I was the 5th person that day to go for my test and all 5 off us passed!

Having once worked at Harleys i can say the instruction is top class lol. In my opinion its better to do the week intensive training and test at the end that way its all fresh in the head and by the end of the week you and the bike are gelled and ready.

Other Very good training schools depending how far you want to travel are Bestridertraining in Shotts or dawn Ramsey down in Dalry both excellent instructors.

Best of luck where ever you go m8.

Questions:

1. Has you passed your test in Glasgow?

No I hasn't, Kilmarnock back in the day.

2. Have you got any recommendations of the best training centre?

Go wi what Dunky says 8)

Method of passing?

Mirrror, signal, mirror, lifesaver, twist, hang on usually works for me

3. Did you do indivdual lessons or blocks of lesssons? Why? Di you make the right choice?

Weeks intensive with test at the end gotta be the best way.

4. Any problems over the course of the whole thing? What were they? How did you fix them?

Other than blind wanky car drivers, pot holes, shitty weather, enthusiastic Police Officers, straight line heroes on crotch rockets, diesel spills blah blah blah nothing really. But don't worry you'll get used to them cos they'e all permanent problems you will encounter.

Good luck.
